About Me

Taking a Walk in his Shoes...Literally
I am a college senior, twenty-two years old, majoring in History with minors in Education and Music. Teaching is my passion. I am the proud godmother of the two most wonderful little boys in the world. I am also a sister, a daughter, and a granddaughter. A niece, a cousin, and a best friend. I am fortunate to be part of a wonderful, albeit peculiar family (and someday hope to have one of my own) as well as the most loving, supportive group of friends a girl could ask for.

Blogging is a way for me to articulate my thoughts and reach out, it's an opportunity for me to share my joys and my struggles. Most of all, it's a way for me to share my story...our story. I watched my soldier leave home and join the IDF, struggled with the stigma of having a boyfriend serving in a foreign military, and faced the heartache of a long-distance relationship. On this journey I have learned so much about myself, found the strength to seek hope and support in unexpected places, and learned to cope with the loneliness that comes from the inability to share my experiences with someone who can understand...not just empathize. It's hard, yes, but the moments we DO share will always be worth the wait as we continue to build a relationship, 6,000 miles apart.
